Editorial policy

How the Plastic Surgery AI blog is written, sourced and kept up to date.

Who writes these articles

Articles are written by the Plastic Surgery AI editorial team, the people who build the Plastic Surgery AI app. We are not a medical practice and we are not doctors. Our goal is to explain procedures, terminology, recovery and consultation questions in plain language so you arrive at a consultation better prepared.

How we source information

We base articles on public patient information from medical and professional organizations, such as the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Academy of Dermatology, the NHS, the U.S. FDA and peer-reviewed literature. Every article ends with a list of sources and further reading for its topic.

What we avoid

  • No promises of outcomes or guarantees about results, safety or recovery times.
  • No individual medical advice, diagnosis or treatment recommendations.
  • No undisclosed promotion: when we mention our app, we say it is ours.

AI previews

Images made with Plastic Surgery AI are simulations for illustration only. They are not a prediction of a surgical result.

Updates and corrections

We update articles when public guidance changes and show the date of the last update on each article. If you spot an error, email [email protected] and we will correct it.
